Tipped for sucess: Jan Valik

Congratulations to Jan Valik who has been offered a place at the Royal College of Art on their Masters Painting course 2023/24. Jan already holds an MA from the Art Academy in Prague and intends to consolidate his training at the RCA in order to, as he says: root my work more.

Acceptance to the RCA is a significant achievement. Likewise, investing in MA training reflects a demonstrable level of commitment from any artist, indicating they are more likely to continue to keep painting and therefore more likely to establish a meaningful career. Taking into consideration that this will be Jan’s second MA, coupled with the news he has a solo show opening in Vienna in July, the future looks very bright for Jan.

We would love Jan to stay with us at New Blood Art and he has confirmed he will continue to show work with the gallery at least until he starts his MA in September 2023. He now joins our Masters section.

If you are looking for a statement piece we have two large canvases by the artist available: No Hard Feelings (When Something’s Shifting) and Those Fluid Distances.
