Paul Smith Presents Nicola Wiltshire

Nicola Wiltshire’s solo show presented by Paul Smith goes on display with an opening viewing Friday 25th you’re welcome to attend at the designer’s Borough Yard store in London, 6-8pm. Paul Smith has collected Nicola Wiltshire’s work for a few years now, adding them to his notable collection of contemporary art that he shows around the country.

Talks between his exhibition manager and Nicola began a year ago, developing into a display that’s a first for the artist. Nicola explains:

We had a few discussions over the phone, he showed Paul my work and we realised I could paint on their fabric. I’ve been working with the fabric team, going through swatches and created a collection of 47 paintings, mostly on Paul Smith fabric.

It’s extra exciting for me, as this is the first time I’ve exhibited my drawings, and it’s also the first time I’ve exhibited plants alongside landscapes.

You can read here Paul Smith’s interview with Nicola. This year also saw the artist awarded the Little Van Gogh residency in the New Forest. The price of her work will soon increase at the gallery, so now’s a great time so collect.
