Here at New Blood Art, we like to share investment tips with you and when an artist is on the cusp of gaining additional recognition and value, it’s the perfect time to invest.
Blair McLaughlin is at a very exciting crossroads in his career. His work sold very well with us immediately following his BA from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2014 and since then he has been studying towards his Masters at Glasgow School of Art from where he will graduate this year.
Blair’s paintings are set to see an 100% increase on 1st March 2017 when he will leave us to join a gallery in Edinburgh (Arusha) and have his first solo show. Blair has also just been awarded a grant from The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation – set up in 1955 to contribute to the success and development of emerging artists from around the world. This is a significant endorsement of his work and future potential, with previous alumni including very well respected contemporary artists such as Jenny Saville and Chantal Joffe. Blair was also awarded the RSA John Kinross Travel Scholarship to Florence and in 2014 was long-listed for Saatchi New Sensations.
We will be sorry to see Blair leave us, though are so excited and pleased for his success and will enjoy watching his career develop over the coming years. It is the perfect time to invest in his work which is already significantly undervalued (see press below from a recent art fair showing Blair’s work) – why not take advantage of the OwnArt scheme and buy a piece with a 0% loan payable over 10 months?
