Blair McLaughlin is an award winning artist who I first came across in 2014 at his BA degree show in Dundee.
Since graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Blair has been long-listed for Saatchi New Sensations 2014, awarded the Dewar Arts Award, which supports talented young artists in Scotland and completed an art residency at Dumfries House, Scotland. Blair is now studying on the prestigious MA Fine Art course at Glasgow School of Art – he has a bright future ahead of him.
Due to the need to make space for a new body of work and to raise funds for art materials, Blair has decided to reduce the price of some of his large-scale degree show canvases (which are 215 cm tall). I have seen these paintings in person – like life-sized dancers they have a wonderful energy and raw quality in the flesh and if I had the space I would buy them and display them as a triptych as I first saw them displayed in his studio.. though they would also work well individually displayed – they are wonderful works and should be selling at far higher prices.
