We’re delighted to announce our collaboration with renowned British interior, furniture, and accessories designer Abigail Ahern on an exclusive curation of 12 original artworks.
Famous for her distinctive take on glamour, Abigail is an authority on creating seductive spaces full of warmth and eclectic charm. Her eponymous brand includes home accessories, furniture, and lighting that imbues a certain ‘rough luxe’ to the domestic interior. Think: inky noir walls, faux botanicals, gold ornaments, and tufted throws – all brought together in a melange of modern bohemia.
Abigail brings this eye for dark elegance to her curation of New Blood Art artworks. Each piece explores what happens when evening comes, and the mind can both settle and traverse new worlds. The light dims, colours merge, and suddenly there’s space for magic, midnight revelations, and taking new comfort in the body.
A quiet bliss pervades these works, with Abigail’s signature taste for dark tones and dynamic textures coming fully to the fore. There’s mystery in Katherine Benson, Martyna Wolanin, and Jessica Chapman’s use of dark golds, mauves, and smoky pastels. But it’s also there in Stephen Todd’s black and white drawings, whose meandering figures embody a gestural tautness and looseness in charcoal.
Timothy Betton, Howl Hubbard, and Katie Rhys Jones tend to a more abstract side of capturing ‘elusivity’, each working distinctively with paint layers, intersecting geometries, and spatial depth. Dominika Prinzova and Carlos San Millan then take us to the outside world – is it dusk or dawn? – both showing visions of private edens in hazy greens.
Abigail has chosen pieces that add to the energy of a space with their own contained spirit. There’s glamour, and there’s grit – like life itself.
