There’s nothing quite like submerging oneself into water. Whether it’s the ocean, the local lido, or even the bath… there’s something therapeutic about putting a lid on the world outside and unfurling one’s limbs. Integral to the human spirit, water has been the object of artistic exploration since the dawn of time, taking on deep symbolic properties. This is why we’ve curated a selection of art for water lovers everywhere.

But what exactly is a water lover? Someone who openly embraces that feeling of weightlessness and renewal that only the water can bring. Or perhaps they’re someone who can’t resist an ocean view. Or better yet, maybe they’ve already got their goggles to hand as lidos intermittently reopen.

In fact, in the Victorian era ‘taking the waters’ – or visiting spa towns – was actually prescribed by doctors as a health measure.
