Original painting in acrylic on board.
"With this piece I wanted to achieve a depiction of the past using a modernist seventies home and tranquil pool. I incorporated a plastic garden chair which for me is very nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood. I want to evoke a sense of calm and a desire for the viewer to be within the image."
Eleanor Dunning's new work is a breath of fresh air, bringing to mind the smoothest ceramics, coloured opaline glass and mid century designers such as Arne jacobsen. She says of the series: 'A Form of Escapism' - “I wish for it to evoke a sense of playfulness, satisfaction and non-reality to the viewer. My focus in this work is shape and colour.”
