We’ve admired Lindsay Mapes’ work for a long time, watching the incandescent palettes of her inventive abstract work bloom as her practice has developed. She’s a New Blood Art Master, and has just received a flurry of fantastic news, marking further recognition of her achievement by industry professionals and industries.
She’s been shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize. Founded in 2016, this prize “explores and promotes current trends in British painting”. The shortlisted winners will have exhibitions in Huddersfield and London; the overall winner will receive much more. Good luck Lindsay!
Her work featured and sold in the Royal Academy Summer show this year. She’ll be adding new work from that series, and will be available to acquire soon. There’s a brilliant array of works on show at the moment; you can browse here.
More good news is that the artist has been awarded a year long mentorship at We The Muse from Artist Support Pledge. This is to mentor selected artists to: “push you out of your comfort zone, and establish you in a sustainable practice that takes you to the next level.” We’re excited to see what work emerges in this next chapter of her career.
Lindsay also has two new exhibitions happening in the autumn – we’ll keep you updated. It’s a good time to invest in Lindsay’s work.
