Original painting in mixed media on canvas.
"I use a carefully layered combination of Watercolour Ink, Oil Paint and Copper Inks. I work from paper sketches made en plein air and often take canvases to the location to lay down the watercolours. I then finish the painting and layering of mixed media in the studio. Part of a series of works following the River Taff from the mouth in Cardiff Bay, to the source in the Brecon Beacons. The route and River Taff also follows the Old Taff Railway line that helped shape the welsh industrial revolution; transporting coal to Cardiff from Merthyr Tydfill. Having walked the River Taff, finishing at Pen Y Fan is a very satisfactory reward for a landscape artist."

Peter Kettle has recently been voted in as a Fellow for the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
Peter Kettle’s work has the surfaces of well-worn exterior walls, buffeted and corroded with the appearance of having withstood the effects of time and weather – a technique that gives his work an enlivening combination of stoicism and nostalgia.
