At NewBloodArt, we’ve been championing emerging artists for 17 years. This wealth of experience and understanding allows us to recognise the exceptional circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic as we continue to promote graduates who deserve regard. In recognition of the added toil due to cancelled degree shows and limited viewings, we have created here a unique and separate section of our website that is dedicated to this outstanding group of talented individuals. With great pleasure we are able build upon last year’s collection of over 500 artworks from more than 30 different UK art institutions to showcase a new pool of creativity in 2021.From Glasgow to Falmouth and London to Aberystwyth, there appears to be no lack of excellence in spite of the trying conditions of the past 18 months and – as ever – we are overwhelmed by the insight and honesty of presented works. It may be said that while all have been navigating the storm of lockdowns and restrictions, we have not all been situated within the same boat and have therefore had differing journeys. For some, there has been a flame reignited for spending time face-to-face with nature as priorities are rearranged and urban life loses part of its appeal. For others, the formidable outdoors takes its place alongside the household endeavours of domestic life as the line between the comfortable and the challenging is walked. With deep scrutiny of self-identity and rich explorations of vulnerability, we might propose that all our artists have been forced to spend more time with themselves and the influence of this is strongly felt throughout their productions. Our first-rate selection of graduates for 2021 are continuing to land on a rolling basis until September 2021.. so please keep revisiting this page for updated information and to view new art college graduates as they arrive.
