The First Wave Arrives to Discover Emerging British Artists

We’re excited to share the first artists nominated for the New Blood Art Emerging Art Prize 2024 that allow you to discover emerging British artists. Through an innovative tutor-led nomination model, tutors from art schools and universities across the UK have begun putting forward their outstanding 2024 Fine Art graduates. The prize showcases diverse perspectives from renowned institutions to regional colleges.

A Legacy of Nurturing Talent

The Royal College of Art (RCA) itself has nurtured generations of influential British artists like David Hockney, Tracey Emin, Chris Ofili and Lubaina Himid, who honed their contemporary painting practices at the RCA before achieving international acclaim. The New Blood Art Prize nominees emerge from the RCA, in addition to a wide range of other art schools and universities nationwide. As nominee names arrive from these institutions across the UK, including the prestigious RCA, we welcome visionary paintings, sculptures, photography, and mixed media works highlighting a bright future for discovering emerging British artists.

More Nominees to Come

This initial group marks the beginning. However, tutors will continue announcing more nominees from every UK corner in the coming weeks to discover emerging British artists. As a result, the full showcase of contemporary fine artists will expand.
