Subject: Places/landscapes/interiors

Original mixed media painting in gouache, pastel, graphite, ink and structura ground (to provide texture), on Bockingford Watercolour paper (425gm/sq m), white matt surface and acid free.

"I paint places where I have a personal connection. I often use the place to explore thoughts and ideas that interest me, as well as the process of painting itself. The Humber Estuary provides much to consider. It mixes raw beauty with industrial activity. The sunsets, working piers and lifeboats. 'The way we look at the landscape determines how we understand and internalise it'."
