Sara Christova (b.1994, Sofia, Bulgaria) is a London-based interdisciplinary artist working across painting, installation, performance and audiovisual media.Through her work she examines scientific and mythological narratives alike, focusing on alternative modes of perception and the possibilities of posthuman futures. Her research and practice stem from an experimental mix of traditional and innovative methods of art making, allowing her to engage with concepts rooted in lived experience, the digital realm and the intersections between art and technology. Drawing from contemporary existentialism and metaphysical discourse, she plays with notions of materiality, affect, and phenomenology, in ongoing visual ruminations on the entropic nature of contemporary culture. Since graduating Cardiff School of Art and Design Christova has exhibited internationally (notably Tate Modern, the Bulgarian National Palace of Culture, and National Museum Cardiff), and collaborated with a wide range of individual artists, collectives and institutions (IKLECTIK, W1Curates, Genesis Cinema, tactileBOSCH, London Paint Club). In 2023 she was awarded a Distinction for her Graduate Diploma in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art, where she is currently completing her MA in Contemporary Art Practice.
