This collection is curated by Emma Phillips, who selected works in response to the Winter Solstice – long nights, ritual, winter, and the return of the sun.
“I chose works that felt aligned with the solstice – a time of darkness, attention, and quiet turning.” – Emma Phillips
Emma is a painter whose practice engages with ritual, folklore, and landscape. She graduated from UAL Wimbledon in 2021, has held her first solo exhibition, and has exhibited widely in group shows. She completed the Mawddach Residency in Wales and has been longlisted for several awards, including the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize. Her work attends closely to landscape, seasonality, and states of contemplation.
Alongside the collection, we’ve interviewed Emma about her work, influences, and practice. The full interview is available here. here.
