Investable Artists

Christian Neuman was recently visited in his studio – located in the stables of an old castle – by photographer Tom Jungbluth, who documented the artist at work.

It’s an exciting month for him: his painting will go on show at the Luxembourg Art Week running 8th – 13th November, and his feature film Skin Walker, a “taut, stylish thriller” is playing as part of the European Film Festival based in Toronto.

When Sammi Mak’s work ‘Norwegian Wood’ went on display at the Unveil exhibition in Club Row London, it provoked a conversation on Haruki Murakami’s novel of that name.

Selena Scott goes on display today at Cambridge Artworks as part of a show for Black History Month. She’s also showing in east London at the moment, at Genesis Cinema.

James Turrell, who is currently building an installation in a volcanic crater in the Arizona desert, had his LED work Incantation on display at Frieze this year.

Charlotte Brisland, a Master Artist, has just been showing at Thompson’s gallery in London. As well as maintaining her practice as a painter Charlotte works as a Fine Art painting lecturer at Aberystwyth University.

Colette LaVette and Morag Caister are winners of Partnership Editions open call for emerging artists! This follows a solo show for Colette in London earlier this summer, and for Marag a solo show ‘Looking for Peace’ at Gallery 70 in Tirana, Albania as well as multiple group shows across the country from Warick to Doncaster.

Lorena Levi and Adam Boyd are both Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2022. This is a fabulous achievement for these emerging artists, marking a really exciting moment of recognition and opportunity for their work. Bloomberg New Contemporaries has highlighted the work of such luminaries past and present as Chris Ofili, Frank Auerbach, Paula Rego, David Hockney, and Lynette Yuadom-Boakye.

The sea is Sax Impey’s subject as sailor and artist: not one it’s possible to capture, only evoke. You can sense the joy as he grapples with it in his work. 

The rigour of Sax’s process – going out onto the ocean in his capacity as a sailor – opens his work to an intensity of experience: available to an artist who paints the sea from the sea, not from the safety of land.
