We featured him again when he reached the important milestone of a debut solo show, which was also listed by Whitechapel Gallery. He has now been shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Errol is also one of the very few self-taught artists we show and reaching this level of institutional recognition as a self-taught artist is unusual, which makes this sequence of markers even more notable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">There is also an extraordinary personal story behind the work. After a serious car accident in which he lost his friend Mike, Errol had to learn to walk again.
