Many of the artists at NewBloodArt are making waves in the art world in one way or another – see below some notable achievements by our artists in 2016.<\/p>\n

Emiko Aida<\/a> continues to impress – her printmaking was accepted again for the National Open Art Competition 2016 and ‘The Master’, an etching competition at Bankside Gallery. Emiko will be having a solo show shortly – date tbc.

Iain Andrews<\/a> was awarded fist prize at the Van Der Plas Gallery Open Exhbition in New York – which resulted in his first solo show in NY. Next week Andrews is exhibiting in a prestigious show in London at Collyer Bristow LLP called Telling Tales alongside significant artists such as John Greenwood (a Saatchi’s YBA) and Gordon Cheung.

Margaret Ashman<\/a> has received a number of invitations from curators to take part in exhibitions next year including a show at the V&A London entitled \u2018Never Wonder\u2019.

John Brennan<\/a> was shortlisted for The National Open Art Competition, Jackson’s Open Art Prize and was a finalist for the Contemporary British Painting Prize.

Orlanda Broom<\/a> has completed a major outsized commission (4m x 4m) \u2013 a painting entitled \u2018Manna Hata\u2019, (the old name for Manhattan) specially commissioned for the lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel in New York.

John Clark’s<\/a> work was spotted by a Swedish band called Highly Sedated, who approached him to produce art work for their new album. The art work is here his work was exhibited earlier in the year at Cambridge University in a show titled Fulcrum: Three Painters. Internationally a small body of his work (five paintings) have been touring various galleries in China from spring of this year.

Daisy Clarke<\/a> was selected for Lubomirov\/Angus-Hugh’ summer salon and also selected for Let’s make a better world ‘ at the Cello factory.

Edwina Gulya<\/a>\u2019s was a finalist for EWAAC2016 with her piece ‘After The Moment’, the same painting has also just been shortlisted for an Indiewalls project in New York – the piece available for sale on NewBloodArt.

John Hainsworth<\/a> is currently in the Discerning Eye winners exhibition at Temple Church, next month his work will be on show in the ING Discerning Eye Art Prize.

Janine Hall\u00a0<\/a>has been selected to exhibit at FBA Futures 2017.

Malgorzata Lapsa-Malawska<\/a> was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2016 and shortlisted for National Open Art and \u2018The Society of Women Artists Open Exhibitions 2016.

Keren Luchtenstein<\/a>‘s \u2018Blue Wavyline\u2019 has been selected for the Royal Institute of Oil Painters which opens on 29th November.

Lindsay Mapes<\/a> was selected for The Marmite Prize for Painting 2016, her work was also shortlisted for The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2016. Additionally Lindsay has been selected for an upcoming documentary called ‘Looking for Picasso’. 12 artist from around the world were chosen. An American production, filming starts next year (she is episode 2) – it\u2019s a particularly good time to invest in her work.

Enzo Marra<\/a> has been selected for the prestigious John Moores Painting Prize 2016 and has also been selected for Beep Wales 2016. Beyond the UK he is included in a Poe-tic Tribute at the Poe Museum in Virginia until the 6th of January 2017.

Luis Medina<\/a>\u00a0has been showing with us for for many years and his work sells well. Over the last year Luis has seen a number of significant successes in his home country of Spain (see details below). Luis’s solo show opens today (Nov 4th) at Ormolu Gallery in Pamplona (Spain).<\/p>\n

His work was featured in Architectural Digest earlier in the year.

Nicola Wiltshire <\/a>recently opened her first solo exhibition. The exhibition is called ‘Contemporary Icons’ and runs for six weeks until 10th November at Hartlepool Art Gallery. One notable quote includes “Work by one of the most exciting young artists in Britain is being showcased in an important new exhibition at Hartlepool Art Gallery.”
