The work explores the dynamics of shape and colour and is certainly testament to Man Ray\u2019s theory, that the \u2018creative force\u2019 within painting must \u2018reside materially in the colour and texture of pigment\u2019 and in the \u2018possibilities of form invention and organisation\u2019. Kaden indeed explores the relationship of forms to one another and, moreover, of colour by experimentation with pattern and utilising delineating contours.
