Landscape as Disquiet – Part 2

I have decided that for the Landscape as Disquiet solo show in Oct/Nov I will work on producing a large number of small paintings – all hopefully mounted up to 31.5cm x 28cm. My objective is 50 paintings and I am about half way.

Pill Box - Humber Estuary

Pill Box – Humber Estuary (gouache, pastel, ink on paper)

There is something about the intensity and concentration a small work can have that draws you in to its world.  I am also wondering about the impact they could have either in one long line or as a block of work …. either way I hope they will present a number of interesting curatorial options.

Windfarm (Margate)

Angel of Mons – Windfarm (Margate) (gouache, pastel, ink on paper)

The work will have some groupings within and I hope the connections between them will be found through the subject and the manner of the work. All the paintings are seascapes and start on the English east coast at either the Humber Estuary or (Turner’s) Margate.

Pierhead, Spurn, Humber Estuary

The destruction of Troy – (Pierhead – Spurn, Humber Estuary) (gouache, pastel, ink on paper)
