Original painting in oil on birch and oak panel.
"Wallflower is a direct reference to the four cardinal points. The lozenge shape has been used extensively in agriculture in order to promote growth in plants. Rather than planting in a grid system, a lozenge system enables more nutrient to be absorbed, encouraging growth. It is said that aside from maximising nutritional uptake, the pattern contained magical properties which helps plants grow. The Wallflower plant is four petaled, and prospers despite a lack of sunlight."
