Original painting in acrylic on board.
"Silver Screen is the latest piece in the 'excavation' series. Multiple layers of paint are applied to the surface. When they are dry I return and carve into it to create swarms of concentric circles that confuse the eye and trick the brain. The rhythms and movement that appear are a record of the temporal and physical nature of the activity."

Willett’s paintings are visually mesmerising, tonal paintings that emerge from what seems like an endearing and hopeful obsessive compulsion – a visual ambiguity is manifest. The finished effect is like watching continually moving shoals of fish or swarming insects. Sara Willett’s paintings are held in collections in the UK and throughout the world and her work has been featured in A-N magazine.
