Christopher Jenkins

With his dark, charred shanty towers, Christopher Jenkins conjures a post-apocalyptic world. His models, crafted from scrap metal and obsolete tools depict a world where modernist advancements in technology and society have failed, culture returning to a tribal, primitive and philistine age. Rusting and empty, these buildings are remnants of human activity, spaces hastily constructed and quickly abandoned. With elements of science fiction, Jenkins casts a postmodernist critique and examination of our culture, marking an emotional and psychological overview of our ideas of shelter and infrastructure.
