Original painting in acrylic and eosine on canvas.
Between decoratively abstract and figurative, it was my firm intention in 2014 to mark in my own way the commemorations of the Great War, continuing my 'colourfield' work with a view to interpreting poppies, that symbol of life ephemeral and of blood. The eosine underpainting is a medium and technique l have employed since the birth of my children; eosin is a vibrant water-based product like ink, and over a long period of time - although light-fast - changes colour. An ephemeral piece.
