Edward Scott

Edward Scott’s work seeks to represent with honesty, something of the ineffable aspect of being. Fundamentally representing the way he sees his world; Edward’s practice is concerned with taking steps to understand, make sense of and bring order to, the chaotic hybridity characteristic of perceived time. Underpinned by a peculiar tension between the real and unreal, paintings hang on the periphery of a non-linear temporality; relentlessly re-navigating the curious in-between within which lived experience, memory and the arrested moment reside. In its development of a visual lyricism, the work stands testament to the haptic rawness of life- mythologising the ordinary.
