Last weekend I went to see my friend Iain Herdman’s studio over in Woolwich as Second Floor Studios where he is based were having Open Days.
I hadn’t seen any of his new work and it was fascinating how the change of locale has brought in a difference in colour and subject matter. His new pieces are lighter and cooler in colour, and feature the industrial riverscape.
I don’t often visit other studios these days but this trip made me realise I should do it more as it is inspiring to see others’ workplaces and how they reflect their surroundings.
Even if it did give me studio envy!
