'Stormy Crow-Black Clouds Brew Over the Twilight', original painting in oil on canvas. "Steering my eye to the many squalls of Britain, I had the pleasure of being thrown about on a tempestuous evening at Devil's Dyke in Sussex. The last moment of calm rested and sighed before being stolen by a blustery smack of gale force weather! After fending off wind-borne debris from the Dyke; I wrestled to preserve that clemency in my sketchbook before the storm hit. Back in the studio, I employed a fluid stroke with my brush, but also built the scarred mounds down to the depths of the Dyke with my palette knife. I attacked the canvas with as much gusto as the weather hit me with that day; using a combination of putty and gesso, which lends a toothy texture to this piece."
