"When painting I like to rework the foundations again and again, building a well-worn surface with tiers of colour and texture. I use a combination of speckling, heckling and pickling paint onto the canvas and allowing mixed media to create textures and relief. I then intricately paint and etch the composition onto the canvas. I enjoy wrestling the duality of nature’s wild side and serenity into my paintings."
