New Blood Art Statement
In the medley of abstraction we find truncated shapes against foggy mirages, expressive arcs over watery dens. When caught before Devane’s prodigious canvases we are pushed and pulled between the fluid amorphous movement of paint on canvas and the phantasmagorical apparitions of something unclear, yet inherently recognisable. As with all great abstract work this sense of the uncanny, amid the compact expression of paint, embellishes pieces with an everlasting quality where they will always promise something previously unseen on each encounter.

Artist Statement
I make paintings where paint and its physical characteristics are a source for inspiration. By dripping, pouring and splashing paint I let the paint itself dictate the forms and structures that will emerge within, creating a purely abstract painting. My work continues to explore my passion for paint as a physical substance.Read More...
