New Blood Art Statement
Words will fail here. Beda is simply a brilliant painter – the paintings have the drama of Bacon, the gestural fervour of Auerbach. The artist displays above all a judgement that cannot be taught, and a fine sense of curiosity entirely his own. There’s something poignant about the way Bartosz Beda applies paint – the images rise up like bruises.
Beda was shortlisted for Saatchi Gallery & Channel 4's New Sensations 2012. He was awarded a six month scholarship to The Academy of Arts in Dresden - which he completed in April 2013. Other prizes include The Towry prize for the best in the North of England at the National Open Art Competition 2012.

Artist Statement
"My recent work has reflected my day-to-day inspiration from new media, like the internet, television and photography. I am using these media as components to create tension in the painting by using marks and gestures individual to myself.I research new influences and ideas for my work daily, and take from the world around me the parts which stimulate me visually, using my personal expression to develop these concepts into my paintings. Through in-depth observation in drawing and focusing on ordinary elements of reality I would like to make synthetic summaries."
