We love Marc’s quietly reflective works – it’s difficult to describe them as they are strongly emotive - capturing something of the essence of existence with a sense of loss and longing.

Marc Atkinson graduated in 2009 with an MA in Communication, Art and Design from the Royal College of Art in London. His practice reflects on atmospheres, the evocation of place and the resonance of past events that have occurred within particular spaces. Other works also reflect on the movement of light across often elemental, textural or abstract forms.
Marc Atkinson is a Video & Film artist whose work reflects on atmospheres, the evocation of place and the resonance of past events that have occurred within that space. His approach attempts a double effect through the use of a static camera and carefully selected shots to dispel the presence of the filmmaker and therefore dissolve the boundary between the spectator and the recorded space. These works also reflect on the relationship between the surface of the screen and the illusory space of the image through the selection of often elemental, textural or abstract forms and the play of light.
His work has been nationally and internationally exhibited and screened at venues such as the Milan Art Fair, Kings Place and on Souvenirs from Earth.
