Greg Allum is a photographer who shoots using traditional methods, solely working with film in 35mm and medium formats, using natural light. All of his shoots are based on location; this method is preferred as he wants to capture people in the environment we live in rather than the formal and 'set-up' atmosphere of a studio.
“Photography, for me, is about capturing moments with no time for retrospect. I am moved by the chemistry of light burning and etching itself onto film with the texture and depth that negatives provide.”
Allum’s inspirations stem from various backgrounds such as the writers Charles Bukowski and Richard Brautigan to photographers such as Anton Corbijn and Linda McCartney.
“My truth is, with each day that passes and with every person I meet I get inspired to create and I hope, in return, that I can keep that chain going by inspiring through my creations.”
